Objective
The assignment “Development of a guideline framework on sustainable production and consumption for a typical industrial sector, covering the product life cycle from design and extraction to disposal” is part of the National Action Programme on Sustainable Production and Consumption for the 2021 – 2030 period of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The assignment was implemented in 2025 with the objective of developing a guideline framework for one representative sector based on the product life cycle approach.
Activities
Main activities:
- Conducting surveys and research on stages related to the product life cycle from the perspective of sustainable production and consumption;
- Developing a guideline framework on sustainable production and consumption based on the product life cycle approach;
- Surveying industrial sectors and selecting one typical industrial sector for application;
- Applying the guideline framework on sustainable production and consumption to the selected sector;
- Organizing a consultation workshop to collect feedback and finalize the guideline framework.
Implementation results:
- Completed the consolidated report analyzing the product life cycle from the perspective of sustainable production and consumption;
- Proposed one guideline framework on sustainable production and consumption based on the product life cycle approach, from design to disposal;
- The assessment of industrial sectors was carried out through the development of a set of criteria, based on which the household plastic products manufacturing sector was selected as the typical sector for pilot application of the guideline framework;
- The guideline framework was piloted in the selected sector to assess its relevance and practical applicability;
- The research results and draft guideline framework were presented at a consultation workshop with experts, research organizations, industry associations, and enterprises to finalize the guideline framework, ensuring its scientific soundness and broad applicability.
