Within the framework of the Sustainable Production and Consumption (SPC) Program for the 2021 – 2030 period of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this task under the National Action Program aims to support textile and garment enterprises in effectively leveraging the circular economy in production, moving toward sustainable production and consumption.

Services to be implemented:

Survey and assessment of the current status of solid waste in the textile and garment sector:

  • Review, compile statistics and collect data on the current status of solid waste in the textile and garment sector;
  • Conduct surveys and interviews to investigate the current status at selected textile and garment enterprises;
  • Synthesize, analyze and assess the current status of solid waste in the textile and garment sector.

Develop guidance materials for implementing a circular economy model for solid waste in the textile and garment sector:

  • Propose a framework for guidance materials on implementing a circular economy model for solid waste in the textile and garment sector;
  • Develop guidance materials for implementing a circular economy model for solid waste in the textile and garment sector;
  • Consult on and finalize the guidance materials for applying the circular economy to solid waste in the textile and garment sector;

Organize a workshop to introduce the guidance materials for implementing a circular economy model for solid waste in the textile and garment sector.

Activities implemented

All activities under the task were completed within the required timeframe. The product “Guidance Materials for Implementing a Circular Economy Model for Solid Waste in the Textile and Garment Sector” was submitted to the managing agency.

The workshop introducing these guidance materials was organized in both in-person and online formats in Hanoi on 12/12/2024, with the participation of more than 30 delegates representing textile and garment manufacturers, management agencies, industry experts and relevant stakeholders.
