Eco-industrial park – Not just a trend, but a future direction
As green transition, circular economy, and sustainable development requirements increasingly become important criteria for businesses, the eco-industrial park model is being promoted and implemented in many countries, including Vietnam.
However, in reality, many businesses and industrial park infrastructure investors still have many concerns:
- What is an eco-industrial park?
- What makes an eco-industrial enterprise different from a conventional enterprise?
- What benefits does participating in this model bring?
- Is it mandatory to make large investments right from the start?
- How can one participate in industrial symbiosis activities?
- What criteria are required to be recognized as an eco-industrial enterprise?
- What does the project support businesses with, and is the information kept confidential?
These are all questions that VNCPC frequently receives during the implementation of programs supporting businesses and industrial parks in transitioning to the eco-industrial park model.

The eco-industrial park model is being promoted and implemented by many countries, including Vietnam.
To help businesses better understand the regulations, benefits, and practical implementation methods, VNCPC will launch a Q&A series on eco-industrial park transformation, compiling the most common questions with answers from experts who have directly participated in consulting and implementing eco-industrial park projects in Vietnam.
Through this article series, we hope to provide concise, easy-to-understand, and practical information, giving businesses a stronger foundation to gradually apply resource-efficient solutions, promote industrial symbiosis, and achieve sustainable development.
